W. J. (Wilco) Vermeulen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Ontario in 1990 upon completing the national Uniform Final Examination (UFE). The CA, CMA, and CGA designations in Ontario merged into the CPA designation in 2014.
In January 1991, I started offering accounting and tax preparation services from a home office in Guelph. The practice grew and evolved. We moved the office out of our home in 2000. I qualified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 2005 and formalized the planning aspects of the practice.
Gary van der Westhuizen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa in 2012, and was acknowledged as a fully qualified Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) when he arrived in Ontario in 2017.
He has provided audit and accounting services, both internally in the manufacturing, retail, and service sectors, and externally through a public accounting firm, in both South Africa and Canada.
